History of Manda
The Start
On January 31, 1894, a little girl came into the world, her parents decided to call her Manda. Manda in Latin means loved and there was no doubt that it was she.
She became a woman who would later stand up for herself and show that she could take care of herself and herself. She was considered a strong and determined girl with her own goals and opinions.
Growing up
She grew up in a time when women did not have the right to vote, where Norway was a poor country and in a time when everyone had to work from a young age to be able to survive.
Manda soon had one child out of wedlock whom she had to adopt, and who later died at the age of 4. Manda then chose to move and ended up in Os in Østerdalen, a small place with the coldest winters and the warmest summers.
The Marriages
She married and had two new children. A girl and a boy, they were with Manda who worked as maids around the farms. The children meant everything to Manda.
After a few years in the marriage, Manda made the controversial choice in those times, to divorce. The divorce came as a result of the fact that her husband was too fond of the strong. She later married a new man, and they lived well together for life.
An inspiration in 100 years
Manda became over 100 years old, and until the very end she was a woman who was committed to being fair, honest and an asset to others. She had that little extra and the ability to stand in the challenges that were bound to come. Full of life and elegance.
She was a woman to look up to and be inspired by. She chose life based on the preconditions she had, and she chose to make the best of it.
